Bold, Happy Abstract Art for Colour-Lovers

"Art that uplifts, will make you smile and feel brave,

it will help you find bliss, on the darkest of days,

fill your home and your world, with the colour of Art,

and rest assured, that it's good for your heart."

New happy art in progress...

Just a little sneak peak at some of the new paintings I've been working on. These 6 pieces are part of a large collection of over 50 artworks called 'Color Terrae,' which means Colours of the Land. They joined me at the Coast Colour Canvas Gallery in St Keverne for a week long collaboration show of 'Art Inspired by Cornwall' in October last year.

I'll be sharing more of my Color Terrae Collection in my Gallery pages over the next few weeks . . . so watch this space!

My most recent work is on a much larger scale than before, and I absolutely love working this size! These two are my favourites and show how much I'm enjoying painting in a freer, more emotional way.

From left to right 'This Space is Yours' and 'Your Joy is Never Beige,' both 150cm x 100cm, acrylic on canvas.

I'll be sharing more on these works and their fun titles soon, and maybe challenge myself to go even bigger! What do you think?

Both of these artworks had pride of place in The Goat Gallery window, at my recent solo show 'This Space is Yours.' Check out my Events page on the link below, to find out more about this exhibition.

Julia is an abstract artist living and working in West Cornwall. With a background in Fine Art, Archaeological Illustration, and Greek and Roman history, she brings a unique perspective to her work.

Her paintings are a joyful exploration of identity, place and the power of colour. She is fascinated by how the history of a landscape shapes our sense of home and belonging, and uses colour psychology to create uplifting positive energy in every piece.

She has exhibited in galleries in London and Cornwall, organised and hosted her own solo exhibitions, and regularly takes part in group exhibitions, artist-run workshops, creative courses and open call competitions, both in person and online.

She is hoping to run her own creative classes soon as well as begin offering art prints and merchandise aligned with her philosophy. Exciting new shop coming soon!
